It was well worth two year wait. I had no idea about the show except Stark and Johnny are in the show and it's about seamen, never heard about the Avett Brothers or listened to the music. I suspected some dark show but the music itself was lively and I really enjoyed it. I've seen Stark in American Idiot and loved his voice since and his vocal/singing was just beautiful. Johnny was also fantastic in every scene.

The set and set change were stunning and nobody should say beyond that. I'm a bit disgusted about the dynamic pricing though. The seat I sat (I got a subscriber price two years ago so maybe $100?) is selling for like $260 for certain performances, yikes. Berkeley Rep does have under 35 pricing which is about a half of the regular prices so if you are a young person, definitely worth checking.

Here is a video clip of one of the numbers, different arrangement. Love it in both arrangements.

I hate dynamic pricing, too, especially at a regional theater. Luckily, I caught ''Swept Away'' in previews and nabbed a ticket for $59 or so.

Besides its half-price discount for those under 35, Berkeley Rep does rush for students and seniors (65 and over) with ID, but it's only $10 off.
