I lost Dione Warwick's number, so can y'all tell me IF Company will still be playing this Spring?

I know, I know. No one has a crystal ball. Anyone who speaks in definitive statements about the future of this season is full of [insert poop emoji]. But, when you've got Psychic Friends like mine...

... you ask them if, based upon what you know today, what you've seen so far, and what MAY be coming, how likely do you think it is that Company is still running this Spring? I'm definitely making my first trip back to NY since the start of the pandemic this Spring. I can't see myself coming out earlier just to catch Company, but if it's still playing when I'm out there (early May at this point), it will definitely be on my list.

So... what do you think? My gut tells me, of all the new productions from this season, it's on the "likely" end of still playing.

Anyone who had a heart might say a little prayer, so that the show won't walk on by. What's it all about? I don't think anyone can make promises - promises are only a whisper in the dark.

But that's show biz. On Broadway, a house is not a home forever, even in an age of miracles.

I know that when the show closes it will be a heartbreaker. How many times can we say goodbye? But perhaps it will tour, by trains and boats and planes. Perhaps it will play the Montgomery in San Jose. Do you know the way?

Yes, and Ms. Warwick will replace La Lupone as Joanne!

If it’s managed to stay open this long

I think it will hold on for Tonys. I have no idea how it is doing at the boxoffice but with omicron disappearing and the slow Jan/feb almost gone, it probably will keep open.

It's doing about 80% at the box office.
Wednesday matinees are slow,
weekend nights are packed.

It’s more about the grosses and not capacity

A show can be 100% filled with lots of comps and discounts so that the weekly grosses doesn’t meet the minimum costs to run the show.

Based on the prices that Company is charging on Today Tix, they appear to be doing very well. There will be times where there are some great deals, especially mid-week, but then the lowest price will be triple digits for weekends, so I imagine it's evening out. Also, word of mouth for the show is good. This board is cranky on it, in that semi-hysterical way of deep theater enthusiasts, but for the regular crowd, the show delivers Big Laughs and a few numbers stop the evening. This production may not be the smash hit they dreamt of, but it appears to be doing well enough to run at least until the summer.

Company's grosses not reported?

If I'm not mistaken that recent exposé on unreported (to the public) Broadway grosses from the current season didn't cite any numbers for Company. Anyway, I guess that's not my business right now. I hope it continues doing decent business!
