| In 1984 I worked with an organization that honored Vivian Blaine for her fundraising; Blaine thought she was there as a presenter that night. We surprised her with an award, presented by her longtime friend Bea Arthur. It was wonderful to be able to honor Blaine and she was very moved by the tribute. I didn't interact too much with her (I was handling Ms. Arthur, which is a whole 'nother story) but Blaine was lovely and it was great to be in her orbit even if it was only a few hours. |
