Well, she and Gergiev have basically kissed their careers--outside of Russia and maybe China--goodbye. Good riddance to both.
What was just cancelled for her for the next two seasons was negligible, certainly in contrast to all the high profile new productions and number of performances Gelb himself has blessed her with all these years. But for some time now, as with the LOHENGRIN production the Met had originally been doing in league with the Bolshoi, she has been racking up her own cancellations, sometimes at almost the eleventh hour after companies had mounted productions for her. |
