Re: Back To The Future. Would I drop it?
Well... I wouldn't call it a "great musical", in terms of the writing, or even a particularly good one. The book is just OK, and the score is aggressively mediocre.
However. It is great *entertainment*. It is enormous fun, the performances are very good indeed, and the design and the special effects are flat-out brilliant. It's empty calories, but it's a terrific night out.
