I wouldn't lay the blame on the box office staff here. They're working with the best information that they have and it's not in their interest to deceive anyone. This comes down to the producer and director. A producer needs to keep a close eye on the view from every area of the theatre and, if too many seats are partial view, instruct the director and/or the choreographer to modify the staging so that more seats can be sold at full price. The director and choreographer should be keeping such things in mind from the very beginning when they're staging the production.
And, of course, the producer needs to communicate accurate information about this to the box office and adjust pricing as necessary. |
