Walton also designed sets for small productions and Theater For Young Audiences tours, gratis.
From writerkev's post:
"But is he on the level of theatrical legends whose passings truly give the sense that Broadway is a lesser place for their absence? The honor should be a rare gesture reserved for the true giants. Or else what does it mean?"
It means respect for a life in the service of theater - at least, that's what it seems like to me. The honor is bestowed by a committee within the Broadway League, and they have gone on the record to say that the nature of its deliberations is private and confidential, so I don't know where writerkev got the criteria they posted above.
James Gandolfini, Harry Edelstein, Robin Williams, Sam Cohn, Michael Kuchwara, Doris Eaton Travis. Tharon Musser, Natasha Richardson...would all of these pass writerkev's muster? |

Fine, guys, I retract. Didn’t mean to create a firestorm. (nm) - writerkev 12:16 pm EST 03/04/22 |
