According to ibdb and Wikipedia, he had 16 Tony nominations and was an EOT (Emmy/Oscar/Tony) winner. I guess it would be hard for a designer to win a Grammy unless it was for Album Package! He is one of 26 EOT winners.
I think he had 55 Broadway credits, although I may have miscounted.
Although there are other designers with as many nominations, 16 is definitely up there, particularly since his nominations were all before the design categories were split into play vs musical, thereby doubling the number of nominations each year. |
