| It's been rampant for the last decade at least. Some of my otherwise favorite theatrical experiences now have bad memories linked to them. The fight that broke out between the people in front of me at "To Kill A Mockingbird", the woman texting during "Ribbons Down My Back", a guy taking endless pics of the stage with his cell phone at "Fiddler". He was the only one I was able to make stop his behavior--most people when confronted about rudeness, double-down on it. How horrible the people are around you becomes part of what you recall of a show, and it ruins it. |
