I’m not so sure about that.

The show’s last New York revival was less than 3 years ago in mid-2019 at the Roundabout, in a similarly small off-Broadway space, and tickets were not hard to come by.

Similarly, Radcliffe’s last NY appearance was in 2019 in Lifespan of a Fact, and tickets and discounts were plentiful.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the run will sell out. His last (and only other) off-Broadway show at the Public in 2016 was in fact something of a tough ticket. But Merrily as a title has never been a box office magnet, and it definitely would seem that whether due to Harry Potter fans aging or to the frequency of his stage appearances (he did 5 New York stage runs in a decade), Radcliffe is not the draw he was at the time of Equus, or even How to Succeed. There’s not really any reason to think the combination of the two will suddenly be a magic formula; popular, sure, but I doubt it will lead to some ticket frenzy approaching anything like the closed workshop of “Wise Guys” from a quarter century ago.
