I would never suggest you were trying to do anything tricky. Blame PlayWiz. :) And I have posted here many times over the years, and given many examples, of exactly the point you were illustrating. All I wanted to do was point out that the playbillvault playbill scans are often not from opening night. For years it was confusing because they did label them all, as far as I could tell, as being from opening night. And, yes, it is still at least somewhat implied that the playbill scans are from opening night.

Unless they have fixed them, at least a few of their opening-night cast lists have errors. Ditto for ibdb, but I know that at least one of those has been fixed. It can be tough to find reliable info, not to mention that, especially with some musicals, the opening-night playbills are not fully accurate. Some musicals — at least two by Alan Jay Lerner — made changes too late for the playbill to be fixed. Sometimes there were inserts with updated info — but those may get lost over the years — but other times not.
