| Charo is actually a really excellent entertainer. She knows exactly what she is doing with her fractured English and hootchie-coochie act. Plus, she's also a superb classical guitarist. I saw her years ago in an off-Broadway show with Sally Mayes and George Dvorsky which was a take-off of Steve and Eydie shows, and Charo was featured as one of a revolving group of special guests. She was a lot of fun, as was the show. I'm also rather surprised Sally Mayes didn't have a bigger career -- an excellent performer. |
