What I find interesting here is that the fighting that we see during the first act is on June's behalf with Louise being largely ignored and forgotten. We see a little bit of Rose fighting for/with Louise over the Torreadorables/Hollywood Blondes act, but, once Louise takes the stage as a stripper and transitions into Gypsy Rose Lee, it really seems like she's doing her own fighting and her career doesn't have much to do with Rose from that point onward.

So I feel like there should almost be some callback here to June here, because the majority of the fighting we've seen Rose do was for her, not Louise. Maybe it should be "I thought you did it for June, " or "I thought you did it for us."

The Louise that we see in GYPSY never wanted show business, readily admits she has no talent, and would have been happier staying home in Seattle and having a normal life. I can't really imagine that she ever thought that Rose did anything for HER. I've always thought that part of the revelation of the Act I finale "Everything's Coming Up Roses," is the shocking (to Louise) revelation that Rose is in this for Rose and she doesn't care which kid she has to use to get there, as well as the dawning horror that it will he she in the spotlight now.
