I mean, I'm not sure I buy into your interpretation. Aren't most of the lyrics largely in tact for Ladies Who Lunch? The song isn't about lonely spinsters who waited too long to commit, it's about well to do housewives of a certain age who've already been married for years and are filling their lives with what Joanne at least seems to see largely empty activities to fill the time (and voids) in their lives.
If the song is an act of forewarning to Bobbi... what exactly is the warning? If you don't settle down and seek out a committed relationship you'll end up in a committed relationship? |
