| Not only is it strained and doesn't actually make sense in the new context/direction, Bobbi's problem is not that she doesn't live, it's that she doesn't connect. Ladies Who Lunch is not a cautionary tale for this Bobbi, not that I can fully make sense of. Like Elliott's concept for Tick Tock, on paper perhaps it seems like a great idea on its own that maybe would work, but in the actual musical Company (the one that exists not the one one might hope it were), it doesn't... not if you're tracking the play rather than taking it just as isolated scenes. |
