Astute, that. All of the publicity focuses on these actors as a group, the favored nations-esque frame suggesting this isn’t *really* a star vehicle. But 12 of the musical numbers are Fanny’s or Fanny-centric. It’s arguably more of one than either Music Man or Dolly, and they are certainly vehicles.
Singing Fanny 8 times a week is a challenge for anyone; for a young actor who has never carried a show, a Herculean one. One can fairly ascertain: in the age of Covid on Broadway, her understudy will be readied simultaneously.
