She's in the club and we see the "Ladies" in the background (backs to audience) so at least we get some reason for her to comment about them. And to see an acidic person singing it makes a difference to me. Patti is just a bit too round and jolly.
Here it just seems to come out of nowhere. Especially with those glam fashionistas scurrying about in the background. Tho to see Claybourne Elder in his leather drag may be worth the effect. |
