I didn't do Premium last year and still had access, so it's really only $5 that you have to pay. It looks like they've changed that lower-tier option since last year, though, in that the lower option now doesn't include streaming of the CBS channel. So if you choose that option, you have to switch to some other platform to watch the rest of the show once the CBS portion starts. That's irrelevant for a lot of people, who are going to be watching the CBS portion through their usual mechanism anyway.
I'm just glad that they are showing the first awards at all. I don't know about the current situation, but there have been many years where one could not watch the pre-main-ceremony-awarded Emmys or Grammys under any circumstances. They weren't broadcast outside that room in any fashion. |
