For last Sunday's mat, I bought online Orch Row K center for $275 each at 10 that morning. The location was perfect for this production. By curtain, there were still some scattered singles throughout the Orch.
It's true neither lead has an ideal voice for this score, and Hugh partners more with the audience than with Sutton, but still, I thought it was 2 1/2 hours of total happiness. The "Wells Fargo Wagon" number is every bit as euphoric as "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" was in the recent Dolly. And "Marion the Librarian" is a choreographic wonder. |
