Ramin Karimloo is Broadway famous, and Jane Lynch is one of the most recognizable (and I'd say beloved) character actors working right now (her turn in "Only Murders in the Building" is a treasure).
Feldstein is in that strange place where she has delivered iconic performances in major movies that are more cult favorites... though the overlap between "Lady Bird" and theater audiences seems quite high, and "Booksmart" is also widely talked about and admired among audience that can also overlap with theater. And she also is arguably Broadway famous, or at least fondly remembered for her performance in "Hello, Dolly!"
I think their plan is that this production will catapult Feldstein fully into stardom, which is why she's the center of the marketing but they aren't looking to her to singlehandedly sell tickets. |
