''It is honestly bonkers for anyone to be above the title in this show except for Fanny and perhaps Nick.''

I agree 100%. In fact, to me, Nick really is more of a supporting role (although this revival is trying to beef it up for Karimloo).

I'm kinda surprised that Sydney Chaplin, who originated the part of Nick, actually got a Leading Actor nomination in 1964.

NIck sings in only two of the songs and had no solos, but Chaplin was billed above the title and was a 1957 Tony winner.

Chaplin had won a Featured Actor Tony for Jeff in ''Bells Are Ringing'' (which seems an even larger role than Nick!).

As for diversifying the ''very white'' ''Funny Girl,'' Grimes, who's black, plays Eddie, originally played by Danny Meehan.

And Peter Francis James, who portrayed Barack in ''Hillary and Clinton,'' is playing Flo Ziegfeld in this revival.
