Annie kept getting kicked out of theaters and everything else was booked. It got kicked out of the Alvin to make way for Merrily We Roll Along and then had to keep moving grabbing a month here and a month there while they waited for new shows to flop. All three of the shows it moved for (Merrily, Oh! Brother! and Little Me) were quick flops. The theater owners would have been better off keeping Annie.
(lots of press how Annie was really an orphan now in theater terms.) |
