| I'll start, but I'd like to hear from others. It was a personal thrill for me to finally see a show in the Hall (and I practiced and practiced...). Lots of love for Sondheim in the room. The concert was a really great experience. So many beautiful songs. Elizabeth Stanley was the standout for me, as Fay Apple. She sang the hell out of her songs. Santino Fontana was also very good as Hapgood. Douglas Sills, always a treat. I was disappointed in the singing voice of Vanessa Williams. Something seemed off. And i think she flubbed a few lyrics. She acted the role well, as well as you can in a concert. The Master Voices - very talented folks and seemed to having a great time being Cookies. I thought a good job was done in working this huge chorus into the show. Ted Sperling and orchestra, excellent. |
