I was glad I was there but this is the first time I’ve sat in the Dress Circle with such muffled acoustics. I have sat there before with no problem.
I wasn’t surprised by Vanessa Williams. I remember her being similarly unprepared for Encores. I think she just doesn’t work well in these settings.
Meanwhile Elizabeth Stanley and Santino Fontana were both wonderful. I would pay to see them in any Broadway show together.
I know this was a concert but it seemed slapdash sometimes. But again, a lot of my disappointment was with the sound. I should have splurged and sat downstairs. |
