As someone who runs Front of House in a large venue that has touring broadway shows. Since September, we have hosted 4 National tours and we are about to have our 5th. While the audiences are coming back in at pre-pandemic levels, I have noticed a shift in attitudes. Everyone is ecstatic to be here and seem to (mostly) be ok with our rules on masks. We are one of those venues that is not requiring vaccine proof to enter.
As excited as everyone is to be here, I have noticed one big thing. Our audiences seem to be more...what's the word..."entitled." Problems with audience members that may have been minor in the past, seem to escalate to a point where we have to involve Security more frequently. Our bartenders are pouring drinks with the same amount of alcohol, yet people seem to be getting tipsy faster. I am not sure if people have just lost their tolerance during the lockdown or what. |
