| It sounds like by putting 4 people above the title of this show, they are dividing the load and responsibility of the show, perhaps, at least they might think, in the public's eye. Even though Sydney Chaplin was co-billed above the title in the original show, the load of the show was very much carried by Barbra Streisand (and later by Mimi Hines and the ladies who played Fanny in stock and tours) though. Fanny sings a really significantly large part of score, up there with probably only Barbara Harris in "The Apple Tree", Mary Martin in "I Do! I Do!" and Bernadette Peters on Broadway in "Song and Dance". There might be roles harder to sing, but the stamina required is pretty demanding. Billing 4 people above the title might be a way of trying to alleviate a bit of pressure off of Beanie Feldstein. |
