Sydney Chaplin had also starred in "Subways Are For Sleeping", co-billed above the title with Carol Lawrence before "Funny Girl", so he was an established name at the time on Broadway. Along with his Tony in "Bells Are Ringing", Chaplin appeared in three big Jule Styne Broadway shows.
