| Yes, sadly. Here's a hysterically wrong presentation of Best Costume at the 1969 Oscar ceremony. You wouldn't know if from this, but the costumes from Star! were beautifully designed period costumes--up until the final "Jenny' number in which all manner of 1960 modness exploded. It's no wonder presenter Jane Fonda pauses when she mentions the "jazz age" costumes, given what comes out on stage. |
