| I don't think SeatGaeek makes it clear that you are buying resale tickets. I tried looking at a couple of shows. For non-Jujamcyn shows (and a ticketbuyer probably wouldn't note which shows are or aren't in Jujamcyn theaters unless you knew to do so), all the seats are resale, but they aren't labeled as such. For those tickets, the fees look they are around 30% of the ticket price. Ticketmaster's resale tickets have a similar fee. For Jujamcyn shows, the resale tickets have a little symbol and a designation in the list on the left but it's easy to miss unless you know that's what the symbol means. The seat map doesn't tell you which seats are resale. The Ticketmaster resale tickets are a different color on the map and are much clearer to see. For the Jujamcyn shows, the non-resale tickets have a fee of around 10% and the resale tickets have a fee of around 20%. So the $200 ticket with the $40 fee must have been a resale ticket. I never looked at SeatGeek until now. Its website is pretty awful IMO. It's designed for re-selling tickets in big venues where exact seat locations aren't as important. You can't see the exact seats unless they are Jujamcyn shows, and even with those, you can't see the actual seats unless you scroll in. And I don't see a way of telling whether it's resale or not with the seat map. I think you might have to look at each seat individually, scroll through the left-side list, or toggle between resale allowed and resale not allowed. And if you try to filter by price, the more expensive seats aren't grayed out like with Telecharge, you can't see them at all. So more adjusting and back and forth. This would all annoy me pretty quickly. I hope Jujamcyn switches back to Ticketmaster or starts to use Telecharge. And I never thought I would say that I hope a theater would start using Ticketmaster. |
