Sorry you were robbed. All three of the assaults sadden me.
I last lived in Chelsea in 2017. I lived at 23rd and 8th and the mentally unwell were already starting to have a very noticeable presence. I know it has become more dangerous since then. As has almost everywhere.
Perhaps I was naïve, but I felt blissfully safe in Manhattan for most of my 30 years there. |
