I, too, continue to stay at the St. Giles. I pay for the Executive Double room, but if you are alone and on a budget the Executive Single will do fine. These rooms are newly renovated and have a mini-fridge and a desk area for your computer if you need to be working remotely when not at the theater. You really can't beat the location for theater or getting in and out of Heathrow by the tube.
I booked The Collaboration, The 47th, and Small Island through the Young Vic (20 pounds), Old Vic (40 for a discounted seat that all the review say is barely obscured by the rail), and National Theatre (weekday matinee bargain prices for 60+) websites. The only ticket that I paid a lot of money for was Cock, and even that was a house seat at the reasonable price way below what the website said. For Cinderella and Straight Line Crazy I will just go to the box-office day of and ask what my options are. ("Day Seats" can be great locations at incredible prices. The theater across from the Leicester Square tube (Wyndhams?) puts you in a private box in the rear of the orchestra with your own loo.)
Good luck. |
