| From this piece “ Orlando, the tourist mecca of the U.S.A., has a violent crime rate twice the national average and 50 percent higher than N.Y.C. New York ” Philadelphia has more murders a year than NYC despite being 25% of the population here. Chicago with a third of our population beats them all. We can argue back and forth about statistics but having lived here now 9 years in the theater district it doesn’t feel unsafe to me. Sure it’s a big city and you have to be careful anywhere but I hope these kinds of things happening don’t put people off coming. |
