I was here then too. But then there were only five or so TV stations and three daily newspapers. So every incident was not out there on anything like a social media platform.
In order to get home in Hell's kitchen, I had to zigzag from the Times Square station, avoiding some seriously scary blocks--like 43rd between Eight and Ninth. And I still got mugged three times. |
