Stephen Sondheim and Harold Prince:
Interviews from the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive
Monday, March 21 | 5:30 PM | Online
In 1975, musical theatre giants Harold Prince and Stephen Sondheim discussed their individual careers, their collaborations, and their current show in development at the time, Pacific Overtures, with The New Yorker’s Brendan Gill. Produced by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT), the interview was originally recorded on June 2, 1975 at the Library for the Performing Arts—and it provides fascinating insights into their collaborative practice. Presented to honor Sondheim’s birthday on March 22, and as part of our ongoing series, The Creative Process, this marks the first time it is available online, outside of the Library. |
