| It was very good indeed, but it really used quite a lot of Tune's original staging. "We'll Have A Glass Together" seemed to be very similar (using the ballet barre, for example) to the original minus the incredible Michael Jeter, but still having quite an impact. The show has some very good songs, but seeing it again, I think with an even better overall score it could have been one of the great ones. Still very impressive and exciting though. | |

| The show has some very good songs, but seeing it again, I think with an even better overall score it could have been one of the great ones. IMHO, other than "Maybe My Baby Loves Me" (and probably "Who Couldn't Dance With You"). I would get rid of the Wright/Forrest material and commission Yeston to write the remainder of the score. (I agree that "We'll Take A Glass Together" provided Jeter with an unforgettable tour de force dance turn, but I have to confess I've never loved the song itself.) |
