FWIW, I think the play has had little sustaining power, and is ultimately forgettable to me

One of the least memorable Best Play winners I've seen, frankly. Not saying it wasn't excellent... everything was well done, as i recall, but that's basically all I recall of it. And I saw it up close at the Mitzi before it moved (I think?), and even with that intimacy I remember very little. Unless I'm confusing it with a different play. And I guess that's part of my point. But I have to assume it resonated with other people harder than it did me.

Given it was a critical darling and winner of Best Play, it doesn't seem to be a popular play to produce around the country, at major regionals or less major ones. It's quite possible I'm just not aware and the many productions of it few under my inconsistent radar. But it certainly doesn't have the life of Doubt or Proof or August Osage County, The Humans, Curious Incident, Clybourne Park, Red, Vanya and Sonia et al... and didn't make the kind of impression made by more unique pieces like I Am My Own Wife..

I'd give it the covid issue of theater being shut down for 2 of the 4ish years since it was on Bway, but all the other play nominees that year (2017) seem to have a vastly bigger life since Broadway... Sweat, Indecent, and A Doll's House Part 2.

I think there are several reasons it's not as popular -- bigger cast, not a as trendy or culturally relevant a subject matter, didn't win the Pulitzer, etc... but still...

But on a personal level, it is certainly one of the major broadway plays I never think about since I saw it.
