** THE BROADWAY LEAGUE RETURNS TO
REPORTING OF WEEKLY GROSSES

** BROADWAY SALES REPORTS RESUME MARCH 22, 2022

New York, NY – March 17, 2022 – The Broadway League announced today that it will resume the traditional reporting of weekly Broadway sales totals starting March 22, 2022. This is a return to the pre-pandemic practice of releasing individual Broadway show grosses on a weekly basis. On Tuesday, March 22, the League will post all weeks for the 2021-2022 season through March 20 on the League’s public website, where grosses have always been reported.

“With the optimism that comes as spring approaches and as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic recedes, 16 new Broadway productions are preparing to open in March and April and audiences from across the country and around the world are returning to New York. As we move forward into this more ‘normal’ time, Broadway sales figures will be reported on a weekly basis beginning March 22, 2022,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League.

The Broadway grosses are available by visiting The Broadway League’s website at www.broadwayleague.com

Will they go back and fill in the missing week from March 2020?

If my understanding is correct, the grosses were never released from the truncated week in March 2020 when Broadway shut down on a Thursday. I wonder if they will fill in that information as well. I've never understood why that information was withheld from the public.

Way too many unhappy producers to continue putting up with this colossal naive mistake by the clueless one. And the selective disclosures through the gossips were the shot across the bow.

And the timing is perfect for embarrassing Garth.

Paradise Square will please most audiences

I went to this new original musical and the score, choreography along with a cast of 40 won me over.
I read about the try out in Chicago and was hoping it would come to Broadway and glad it did. Wishing the production well. Similar territory covered in the film The Gangs of New York. This time centered on Black and Irish residents in the Five Corners dealing with living in New York curia 1863.

I’m also hearing good things from smart theatergoers.

I like almost everything, and I was not impressed by Paradise Square.
It wasn't cohesive. It felt very formulaic.
I never fault the performers who were all fantastic.
Let it Burn, felt like Let it go from Frozen
a lot of the group anthems wanted to be RAGTIME and Les Miz.
And finally, it didn't move me.

Garth may have the last laugh. The audience reaction to Paradise Square has been really good so far, albeit, only two previews.
