Have to disagree. Saw this show three times: twice w/Liza and Chita, once w/Stockard and Chita (don't ask). Loved the score, the guys, the set, and of course the stars. Stockard was game but she couldn't sing it.

It was far more deserving of a Best Musical nomination than "The Tap Dance Kid."

The Rink has been staged a couple times locally in the Chicago area in the last 15 years. It's a strong show with a good score. There actually was chatter on this board about 20 years ago that Encores should do it with Liza and Idina Menzel.

That casting would have sold out the City Center venue, and they would have offered standing room (as they did with Follies in 2007).

I assumed that you would have wanted to see every single Encore performance if Liza had been cast as Anna.
