I'm a bit surprised ANY of these rulings were even questions, outside of Patti's category. I assume most of this meeting was just a formality to confirm the obvious.
I actually think Patti should 100% not be in Leading, Joanne is always a featured/supporting character and should be categorized as such for awards. The idea that she could beat the person playing Bobbie is bonkers... and given that Katrina has no chance of winning as Bobbie, it's very likely Patti will.
I also think being in Leading *would have* substantially reduced the chances or foregone conclusion that Patti will win a Tony for Company.
