I would love to hear someone on the selection committee explain the thought process by which Lear deBessonet got the job. Her vision seems so out of step with the mission of Encores. The comment about any stage show (and presumably any film or TV show, and probably any novel) written before 2000 is outlandish. Does she think that every film made before 2000 should be thrown in the garbage? Does she refuse to read a book written in 1999?
It seems obvious she is a poor fit for an organization focused on the past. Why wasn't it obvious during the interviews for the position? |
