Already mentioned below, Married from Cabaret is perhaps the gold standard—had the privilege of singing that to my husband in public on one of our anniversaries, with a fellow traveler indulging us with the German reprise.
Make our Garden Grow from Candide is sweet and soaring.
But if it’s a jaunty pair, there’s always Marry Me Now from Will Rogers Follies (“No shy violet/Let’s middle-aisle it.”).
Can’t believe I even care about this thread. For years, I actively avoided anything to do with marriage, because we were excluded. How a word can change. |
