Sadly, this is the first March 22 without Stephen Sondheim around, but Andrew Lloyd Webber is still active.
Last fall, he told Variety that he's toying with ideas for a new musical and has met with potential collaborators.
In 2020, Steve and Andrew sang ''Happy Birthday'' to each other online during a Rosie O'Donnell benefit for COVID relief.
However, I best remember Steve and Andrew getting together in-person for Cameron Mackintosh's birthday gala in 1998.
Imagine if the two of them had collaborated more. What else could they have written?
* ''Tell Me on a Sunday in the Park With George''
* ''Oh, What a Circus! Send in the Clowns''
* ''As If We Never Said Goodbye to Blueberry Pie'' |
