| Did you see the film? Music actually plays a large role in the story. The hearing daughter wants to be a singer. This concept being so foreign to the rest of her family is what drives most of the conflict of the film. After seeing Deaf West's "Spring Awakening" I have no doubt they could make a really lovely musical based on this film. The aspect that I think will might not translate well to the stage is being on fishing boats. But we'll see what they do. |
