| John came to my high school when he was a junior and I was a freshman. I remember going to see the school play that year and going OMG!. It was clear that he was an absolutely brilliant actor. The next year I had a tiny role in the play, and got to see him rehearse day to day. We were a very sports oriented family, and it was the heyday of the Green Bay Packers. I remember saying to my father that Lithgow in a HS play was like Bart Starr quarterbacking a peewee football team. Not a high school team. he was just so much more gifted than anyone else. I wish I had an actual anecdote, but John was very serious and pretty much kept to himself. |
