In addition, understudies may (and often do) cover more than one role, likewise, some roles may be understudied by more than one person. A standby is that special "reserve" who only covers that one leading role.
(That said, there may also be someone in the cast who also understudies that same role - so that there is both an understudy AND a standby ready just in case.) |
