I thought Mr. Samonsky was fine vocally and had the proper style for the music; it was his acting choices including how he moved and spoke which seemed arrogant in an unnatural/unbelievable kind of way that stuck out so much for me. Also, the way the song "Happy Talk" was staged, was that along the lines of the original intention of Rodgers & Hammerstein? While Bloody Mary was singing this very lively song, Lt. Cable as portrayed by Samonsky was shaking and looking as if he was suffering from syphilis or some other illness.
