It's odd. Mimi Hines was a laudable/credible substitute for Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl and made the part her own. After hearing her sing six bars of "I Ain't Down Yet" I couldn't listen anymore. The song belongs to Tammy Grimes and always will. Talk about magic!
