Yes, this is where the out-of-towner has a big problem. Moulin Rouge and Skin of Our Teeth were canceled with very little notice for the whole weekend, so it's not like you could try to go the next day. If I had to buy a non-refundable plane or train ticket to go to a Broadway show, I'd be reluctant to do that right now. And I think a lot of potential audience members probably feel that way.
As it stands, I'd love to see Skin of Our Teeth, but I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly to do that in the next two weeks before it closes. So that's a lost sale.
jjbkvm, if you haven't tried already, I think it would be worth calling SeatGeek/Jujamcyn. I think there's a good chance they would be sympathetic, particularly if you felt comfortable in exchanging rather than asking for a refund. |
