He is a sweety. And has tales to tell. I wish someone would ask him about Fiddler on the Roof in which we played the Taylor. He has tales to tell. He used to entertain the patients in a group called Hearts and Voices which brought Broadway and Cabaret performers to AIDS patients in the hospital which I did on Mondays at Bellevue. The patients fell in love with him. He has recent been performing with Barbara Blieir at Don’t Tell Mama and will be coming back again I video taped the shows and it was brilliant. It was after a rehearsal for these shows the the director had at her apartment Barbara Gustern that she was pushed and later died.
I saw Austin do “Diary of Anne Frank” playing the dentist and he was absolutely brilliant. There is nothing he can’t do. I will never forget that performance. |
