Like you say, there is nothing inherently wrong with the idea, but the way it's being presented makes it seem like these folks are trying to remedy a problem with the show that for most people simply doesn't exist. (Kind of what Encores! was trying to do with The Tap Dance Kid and The Life, and we know how those theatrical resuscitations turned out.)
